Mr Birds Emporium opens in Digbeth

Firstly, this post has been a long time coming (over two weeks, to be precise), due to circumstances beyond my control - losing my photos and then getting them all back etc. So, a huge apology. However, it's all still completely relevant (yay). So, read on, readers. Mr Birds Emporium awaits you.
Regular readers of this here blog are probably familiar with my like for vintage, thrift and reworked items. So imagine my delight when Mr Bird's Emporium opened in Digbeth, Birmingham. Bloggers were invited to come along to the opening day and I couldn't wait to get along and have a nosey.

Mr Birds Emporium is a brand new angle on vintage and independent retail. It features an open plan space which is home to 10 or so permanent independent retailers. And believe me, no matter what your taste, there is something in the Emporium that you'll fall in love with.

Arrived!

UPTODATED

Uptodated is a gorgeous vintage fashion boutique, with a real edge to it. The pieces that I saw on the day were fantastic quality. I spotted one jacket in particular that really made me want to channel my inner Neneh Cherry. So, they can expect to see me again.
This post won't contain all the amazing stalls that are there. You really do have to go and see it for yourself. But there are a handful of the ones I stumbled across. You'll hear about more of them in future posts because I will definitely be going back.
Curious Cleo
Curious Cleo had a gorgeous selection of clothes but there were some jackets that caught my eye. If you're looking to rock the Heritage look this season, this is definitely a brand worth checking out.
Busy, busy, busy!

Sarah from Bits and Bows hard at work

Laura Loves
Think of the coolest things you can make into a pendant and you've got Laura Loves. There's lots more besides and I will definitely be getting some Christmas gifts from there. And guess what? She has a card machine! If you're anything like me, the idea of carrying cash is more hassle than it's worth. Any of you that have been to Custard Factory will also know that cash machines are annoyingly sparse. Problem solved. Thanks, Laura.
French Fancy rings! And my first go at using the macro setting, on my camera.

I met the lovely Sarah from Bits and Bows on the day of the launch and now I love the brand even more. She is a super talented fashion graduate. I'm obsessed with the jewellery and want almost all of it. Iced Gem ring, anyone?
Apart from the fab jewellery that she stocks, she makes gorgeous made to measure clothing. So all of us fashionistas can look amazing, without all looking the same. It absolutely killed me that I couldn't splurge on the day (darn you, bills). But I've already kissed my next lot of wages away because I shall be there. Obviously, I'll do sensible things, like buying Christmas presents.
These marshmallow rings from Bits and Bows look spookily real. Definitely on my shopping list.
People, I literally cannot tell you enough how wonderful it all is, you really do have to go and see it for yourself. Custard Factory is a fab place, anyway. There's nothing quite like popping into Mr Birds Emporium, heading into Yumm Cafe and browsing the vinyl in Urban Village.
Digbeth is considered the arts and fashion hub of Birmingham and I agree 100%. Mr Birds Emporium has come along to feed our hungry fashion appetites and will only serve to make the area all the more popular.
Get along to Mr Birds Emporium and see for yourself. It's open 10:30am-5:30pm Tuesday - Saturday.

Lots of love and let me know if you'll be heading there soon. Anyone had any great vintage finds, lately?

Much love,

P.S. Outfit Post for Mr Birds Emporium coming soon.
