TAG: Why Do You Wear Makeup?
Tagged by Becky, over at TwentyNothing, today I'm writing all about why I wear makeup.

It's a tag that has been around for a little while now, so I'm delighted to be answering the questions. Let's roll...
This is a tricky one because I started wearing make up when I was about 11. I bought a Collection 2000 lipliner and lip gloss because that was all I was allowed, at the time. So, I really liked makeup, from then really but didn't start to experiment until my teens. I wasn't exposed to it much, as a child, so it was probably secondary school, when I began to take notice. I'd love to have a cute story about how I used to watch my big sister or my mom put it on, when I was younger. But with only 3 brothers, and a mum who doesn't really wear it, that simply wouldn't be true.
When I turned 13, I began to learn more about how to apply eye makeup and I've been sold, ever since.
To be honest, I feel good without makeup. It makes me feel a little sad, when girls say they feel awful about themselves, or won't be seen (even by their own family, in some cases) without it. Sometimes, I go to work without a full face of makeup on because I simply don't feel it's necessary.
I love makeup but I'm careful not to use it as a crutch. My mom only wears makeup on special occasions. She has always maintained that she knows that she is beautiful without it and I'm thankful for that because it has set a great example to me.
I like the philosophy that it exists to enhance your features. It's amazing how the way you do your makeup can change the whole mood of outfit. It can take you from feeling ordinary to ready to rock and roll, with relatively little effort.
And I won't lie, it does make me feel extra beautiful and confident, when I'm wearing it. I like to experiment too. False eyelashes are a brilliant idea! They've completely changed my going-out look and red lipstick is essential for instant glamour.
Lipcote - I genuinely cannot believe how amazing this product is. It does exactly what it says. Wearing lipstick would be a total nightmare, without it. Nothing works better, for making your lipstick stay put. People still ask me how I manage to keep my lipstick in place for so long. I'm shocked that every woman who wears lipstick doesn't own it.
Benefit They're Real! Mascara - I adore this mascara. I feel like I've been on the hunt for a mascara that I never want to stop using. I used to only ever buy Rimmel mascaras and although they're very good, I'll definitely be sticking with this Benefit one. I feel so happy to have found one that I want to use over and over. You can check out my review of it here. I gave it 4 stars!
MUA Eyeshadows - MUA is without a doubt, the best budget brand I have ever used. Products start from £1 and don't get much more expensive than that. You can stock up on some great bits and bobs for £10, easily. I love the eyeshadows because they are much better quality than I expected. The colour is dense, when you apply it and it doesn't melt away, after a couple of hours. They blend beautifully too. They are available in pearl and matte. I wrote about MUA on this (now inactive) blog.
And that's it, readers. Thanks to Becky for tagging me. If I don't tag you but you've done the post, leave me your link as a comment. I love hearing about your favourite brands, so
make sure I hear from you.
